What we hold ourselves to, what we refuse to write, and what happens when we get something wrong.
Sourcing standard
Every factual claim on this site traces to a named, dated source. Every product write-up carries the URL of the listing its specifications were read from and the date we read it, at the bottom of the write-up where you can check it.

Prohibited outright:any specification, price or figure recalled from memory or estimated from a photograph; any statistic without a named source; any claim attributed to “studies show” without naming the study.
Where a listing does not publish a figure, our tables say “Not published”. That is the correct answer and it is frequently the more useful one — a seller who will not state a fabric weight or a coil count has told you something.
Independence
We accept no sponsored placements and no free product, and no manufacturer sees a page before it is published. Our only revenue is Amazon Associates commission, disclosed in full on the affiliate disclosure page and above the fold on every page carrying an affiliate link.
Every roundup names at least one product we advise against buying. We earn nothing when you follow that advice, which is precisely why it is on every roundup.
What we will not publish
- No medical content.No causes of night sweats, no sleep-disorder material, no pregnancy or menopause symptom content, no diagnosis, no treatment advice. We cover the thermal environment — mattress, bedding, room. Where a topic brushes health there is one neutral referral line and nothing more. We have no medical credential and will never claim one.
- No testing claims.Never “we tested”, “we slept on”, “in our lab”, “our thermal camera”. We have not and we do not have one.
- No invented credentials.No certifications, no expert panel, no “medically reviewed by”, and no tenure language for our author — never “veteran”, “seasoned”, “years of”.
- No fabricated prices, ratings or review counts.Prices render only from the live layer. Where none exists, the button reads “Check price”.
- No testimonials. This brand is new and has no customer reviews. Publishing any would be fabrication, so there is no testimonial section anywhere on this site.
- No self-authored review or rating structured data. Marking an editorial opinion up as a star rating would claim an assessment we did not perform.
- No comparison whose buy button cannot exist.If we cannot link a product, we do not build a money page around it — we say so instead, as on cooling mattresses.
Who writes here
Stephen V. writes every page on this site. He is an enthusiast, framed exactly that way and never as an expert, a specialist or a veteran of anything. There is no team behind the byline and no panel. Full context on the about page.
Re-verification schedule
On a site that competes on sourcing rather than testing, freshness is a primary trust asset rather than housekeeping.

The date rule.The “specs last verified” date on each page is updated only when the specifications were genuinely re-checked. It is never bumped automatically on deploy. A date we did not earn would be a lie in the one place we have asked you to trust us most.
Corrections log
Material corrections are logged here with the date, what was wrong, and what changed. If you find an error, tell us— it is the one kind of message we always answer.
